Services: Custom software and web apps, built in Edinburgh

Some projects need more than a website. A web app is software your customers or staff use in the browser: a marketplace, a booking or ordering system, a portal, or a tool your team relies on every day. Custom software is built around how your business actually runs, rather than a product bent until it nearly fits.

Typical work:

1. Platforms and marketplaces with clear roles, onboarding and a commercial model behind them.
2. Internal tools where the workflow has to be right.
3. Product sites that sit on top of a real system.

I've spent 10+ years building and owning products. I cofounded What The Fork and built the restaurant ordering platform from the ground up, from the concept and commercial model to the platform and roadmap. That role ran from June 2016 to June 2025 and has ended. I cofounded Golf Sherpa in June 2025 and led product and the build of the website and app. On HeroCAD I was full tech lead and developer on a two sided marketplace that connects dental labs with freelance CAD designers. Before that, I led product and technical direction on Meta Dram, a tokenised whisky platform; that role ended in April 2025.

1. Book a free 30 minute chat, or use the estimator for an indicative planning range first.
2. If it makes sense to go ahead, I write up the scope and send a fixed quote before any build starts.
3. I build it myself with regular updates. I use AI where it speeds up the work, and I review everything that ships.
4. I handle the launch. Ongoing help afterwards is agreed separately.

I'm happy to meet in Leith if you're in Edinburgh or Fife. Video calls work just as well for clients elsewhere in Scotland and the UK.
